How long does a vulcanized timing belt last?

In normal working conditions, a properly selected vulcanized timing belt can last longer than a weakly joined belt because the joint area is stronger and more stable. However, no belt has the same lifetime in every machine.

Common reasons for short belt life include:

Wrong belt size

Too much or too little tension
