How long does a vulcanized timing belt last?

Update Time:2026/6/18
In normal working conditions, a properly selected vulcanized timing belt can last longer than a weakly joined belt because the joint area is stronger and more stable. However, no belt has the same lifetime in every machine.

Common reasons for short belt life include:

Wrong belt size
Too much or too little tension
Pulley misalignment
Sharp machine parts touching the belt
Overload operation
High temperature beyond material limit
Wrong surface coating
Poor installation

To extend belt life, we recommend checking pulley alignment, keeping proper tension and choosing the correct material for your working environment. GOODLY can also help analyze your old belt damage and suggest improvements.
